After you complete both Session 1 and Session 2 of the Sew It Seams: Beginner Machine Sewing, you’ll have the skills needed to join Open Sewing Lab and tackle beginner-friendly projects on your own. Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a bilingual Spanish/English family drop-in workshop that invites participants to connect with nature, culture, and one another through the art of handmade paper. Participants can stop by anytime during the program to create handmade paper circles that will become part of a larger collaborative community artwork.

Join us for an interactive discussion about life in the U.S. Share your stories of triumph and struggle. And what we’re doing to make this country a place of belonging for everyone. Registration encouraged but not required. All are welcome.

This event creates a space to explore challenges and opportunities facing youth through conversations, resources, and partnerships. Enjoy workshops, panels, networking, music, vendors, activities, and gaming tournament.

This training program helps participants learn or improve their skills in adult first aid and CPR/AED for adults, children, and infants. The program uses demonstrations, guided practice, and scenario-based exercises to build confidence and proficiency. We strongly encourage participants to pre-register for this program.

Provided by local non-profit, Wanuku Rites of Passage, Inc. Participants learn what rites of passage are, how different cultures (including indigenous cultures) approach them, and benefits of rites of passage.

Step into the vibrant world of mehndi (henna art) through an immersive, five-senses cultural workshop led by a professional henna artist. Participants will explore the history, botany, and cultural significance of henna across South Asian, Middle Eastern, and North African traditions. All interested participants will receive a freehand henna design by the artist. Optional bindis are available.

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a lively journey through Caribbean culture! Enjoy vibrant dance performances and join in as you try out some fun Caribbean rhythms and dance steps. This interactive program invites everyone to celebrate, connect, and experience the joy of Caribbean dance.

Unleash your creativity while learning new crafting skills! Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and learn about the world's largest salt flat located in South America’s Bolivia before trying your hand at painting it! Paint clothes are encouraged but plastic smocks will be available. All supplies provided!

Join Rosa Romero for a Hispanic Heritage Month program featuring her children’s book "Tengo mi cabello largo" (I Wear Long Hair). Children ages 4–8 will enjoy a fun and interactive reading experience, followed by a creative coloring activity inspired by the book. Rosa will share her journey as an author and what inspired her to write this special story.
