Travel back in time with Khaleshia Thorpe-Price and listen to different perspectives of Black history.

This program's monologues were created using three different types of inspiration, including Khaleshia's grandmother, Cora Thorpe, who attended Rolack High, a colored school in Chipley, Florida; Ruby Bridges, the first black student to attend William Frantz Elementary School; and Elizabeth Eckford, one of the first black teenagers to attend Little Rock Central High School.

Khaleshia Thorpe-Price is the owner and Master Teaching Artist at Dramatic Play. She aims to dazzle participants with the love of play and creative exploration. She has worked in the field of arts education for over 20 years. In addition to her work at Dramatic Play, Khaleshia is a Master Teaching Artist with the Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning through the Arts and a Maryland State Arts Council Roster Artist. She has facilitated residencies and workshops for children and adults nationally.  Khaleshia has worked and collaborated with many organizations, including, Folger Shakespeare Library, Shakespeare Theatre Company, and the Ford's Theater. She is the Maryland Director for Teaching Artists of the Mid-Atlantic (TAMA), a network that advocates for, empowers, and supports Teaching Artists throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
