Dr. Donald K. Milton Dr. Milton is a MPowering Maryland Professor of Applied Environmental Health at the University of Maryland School of Public Health. An internationally recognized expert on the aerobiology of respiratory viruses, Dr. Milton developed the concept of using indoor CO2 to directly measure re-breathed air and airborne infection risk. He is the Principal Investigator of the UMD StopCOVID study (measuring SARS-CoV-2 in exhaled breath) and of Evaluating Modes of Influenza Infection - 2 (EMIT-2, an NIAID funded study of the role of airborne transmission).
