Emily M. Danforth is the author of the highly acclaimed young adult novel The Miseducation of Cameron Post. She has an MFA in fiction from the University of Montana and a PhD in English from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. She lives with her wife and two terrible dogs in Rhode Island. Plain Bad Heroines is her first adult novel.

Sara Lautman is an illustrator, cartoonist, and teacher in Baltimore, MD. Her drawings have been published by The New Yorker, The New York Times, Playboy, Mad, The Paris Review, Tablet, The Awl, Catapult, Electric Literature, and other publications. Her published books include Lying & Cursing, I Love You, The Ultimate Laugh, Ghost Sex, Pictures of Bananas and Funny Bugs, The Humble Simple Thing (a collaboration with the novelist Sheila Heti) and Emily Danforth’s Plain, Bad Heroines (Harper Collins).
