Mobile Apps

Mobile applications (apps) provide easy access to some library resources and services.  With them you can

  • Search the library's catalog
  • Manage your library account
  • Download ebooks, audio books, music and magazines
  • Research a broad variety of topics
  • Search directories

The following mobile apps provide access to some of the resources to which PGCMLS subscribes.  To configure the apps, please have your library card and password ready.  A few apps may require the creation of a login online before using the app.

OWL iLibrary is a fast and easy way to search the library's catalog and manage your library account.  You can renew items, check due dates, monitor hold requests, view outstanding fees and search for books, DVDs, CDs, and audio books.  Apple AppAndroid App

Read ePub and PDF formatted eBooks. You can browse the PGCMLS's Axis 360 Digital Media Library from within the app. During the initial setup, you may need to enter an Adobe ID.  If you do not have an Adobe ID, you can register for one at Adobe.comApple App | Android App

Read full color Blio formatted eBooks. During the initial setup, you may need to enter a Blio account login. If you do not have a Blio account, you can register for one at Blio.com. When checking out Blio formatted eBooks on the Axis 360 Digital Media Library website, use the same Blio account. To download borrowed eBooks, press on "Get Books" within the Blio app.  Apple App | Android App

Download and listen to songs from Freegal Music, which contains millions of songs to choose from. Download up to 5 songs a week and 3 hours of streaming music per day with your Prince George's County Memorial Library System library card. In the iOS version, songs are saved in the Freegal app, not your iTunes Library.  To add songs to your iTunes Library, use your computer to download songs, then transfer them to your mobile device. Apple App | Android App

Download eBooks and audiobooks from Overdrive directly to your mobile device! Borrow digital titles, place a hold on titles currently out, and share ratings and reviews of titles. Page through popular magazines on your Apple or Android device.  Create a free RBdigital Gateway account and checkout the library's magazine subscriptions.  Create a free Zinio account to subscribe to the library magazines that interest you.  Use the Zinio app to download magazine issues onto your device. Zinio will also allow you to purchase personal magazine subscriptions, if you so desire.  Apple AppAndroid App | Windows App

Submit questions to tutors, take class notes, track your homework assignments, and study with flashcards using the Brainfuse app. Your username and password are your library card number and library account password.  Apple App

Learn over 30 languages using this mobile app. To use the Byki app, you will need an authorization key. Access the BYKI, Before You Know It research database via the library's website. Create a user id, if you do not already have one. Click on "Go Mobile" at the top of the page. Click on "Get Byki CLE User Name" and enter it into the app. Apple App | Android App

Retrieve articles from magazines, reference books, and scholarly journals in Ebsco research databases. To use the EBSCOhost app, you will need an authorization key.  Access an EBSCOhost research database via the library's website. At the bottom of the page, click on "EBSCOhost iPhone and Android Applications." Enter your email and the key to the app will be emailed to you. Apple App | Android App
