Largo, Maryland – The Prince George’s County Memorial Library System (PGCMLS) gives thanks year-round to service members, military families, and veterans for their sacrifices on behalf of all Prince Georgians. This Veterans Day, the Library is hosting a special county-wide event, the Prince George’s County Veterans Recognition, on Tuesday, November 10 at 7 pm with the Prince George's County Office of Veterans Affairs, Department of Family Services, and Human Relations Commission. The program features Dr. James Dula, Major, U.S. Air Force (Retired) and Prince George’s County Office of Veterans Affairs; Veronica Harris, Lieutenant Colonel, U.S. Air Force (Retired); and Langston Clay, Petty Officer, U.S. Navy. Dr. Reneeˊ Starlynn Allen, “The People's Emcee” Radio & TV Host, will deliver the opening remarks.

The Library has launched a new Military & Veterans Resources webpage, which features key resources, services, and programs. Engage in the rich history, diverse stories, and important contributions of our U.S. service members. A list of veteran-owned businesses, national and local veteran resources, and links to free virtual webinars and registrations for upcoming veteran-honoring events are also available at pgcmls.info/veterans. Veterans are encouraged to access Brainfuse’s VetNow for a host of veteran support services including navigating Veteran Administration (VA) eligible benefits, job coaching, and a resume lab free with a PGCMLS library card.

PGCMLS will be closed on Wednesday, November 11, in observance of Veterans Day. Curbside Service and Ask a Librarian/Biblio Consulta are temporarily suspended for the day. Services resume on Thursday, November 12. Visit pgcmls.info/curbside for more information.
