Board of Library Trustees
The Board of Library Trustees is a policy-making body that guides the development of library services. It is composed of seven volunteer citizens appointed by the County Executive. Their policy decisions impact all areas of library operations.

Meet the Board of Library Trustees:
Sylvia Bolivar, President
Appointed president in February 2013, Bolivar has been a member of the Board of Library Trustees since June 2008. Her 20 years of professional experience in the public and nonprofit sector culminated in her serving as co-chair of the OPM Agency Review Team for the Presidential Transition Team in the Obama Administration. Sylvia has a passion for the education of children and can be found on weekends at the library with her toddler son.
Dr. Alease J. Christy Wright, Vice President
A Board of Library Trustees member since June 2008, Dr. Wright has served as vice president since January 2012. This former librarian is also a board member of the Maryland Advisory Council on Libraries, a charter board member of the National Forum on Information Literacy and founder of the Literary Ladies Book Club. An alumna of Morgan State University (B.S. and Ed.D.) and the University of Maryland (M.L.S.), Dr. Wright retired from IBM in 2000 after a successful career in programming and technical marketing. She resides in Springdale, MD.
Wanda M. Arrington
As the lead auditor for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Arrington does project management, strategic planning and audit work. Positions held include treasurer (Park View Baptist Church) and auditor at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. This alumna of Norfolk State University (B.S.) lives in Upper Marlboro, MD.
Cormekki Brown Whitley
This chief operating officer for the Change to Win Federation handles finance, administration and strategic planning. An alumna of North Carolina State University (B.S.), Meredith College (M.B.A.) and Northcentral University (Ph.D.), Whitley resides in Upper Marlboro, MD.
Samuel A. Epps, IV
This political organizer for 1199 SEIU United Healthcare earned his Bachelor of Arts in political science at Pennsylvania State University. Previously, he was owner of EppsBaltimore and chief of staff and legislative aide for Maryland Del. Salima Siler Marriott. He lives in Laurel, MD.
s County Police Department and attorney at The Polk Law Group, LLC. This alumnus of Prince George's Community College (A.A.S.) John Hopkins University (B.S. and M.S.) and University of Baltimore, School of Law resides in Bowie, MD.
Rey N. Robles
Currently an independent consultant, IT systems security specialist, Mr. Robles has held these positions: senior security engineer (CGI Federal), senior principle security engineer (Data Computer Corp. of America), computer scientist (Computer Science Corp.), senior member of the technical staff (Aerospace Corp.) and system security analyst (CACI Corp). He lives in Accokeek, MD.
