PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY MEMORIAL LIBRARY SYSTEM WINS GRANT TO SUPPORT JOB SEEKERS IN THE COUNTY
Hyattsville, Md. ― Prince George’s County Memorial Library System (PGCMLS) has just received a grant to help unemployed residents in the County find work. With funding from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation, PGCMLS is one of 70 public libraries in the nation who will develop a new community program for adult English language learners.
The grant, titled The American Dream Starts @ your library, will support introductory computer training and a series of workshops on job searching success in both English and Spanish. Slated to begin at the Hyattsville Branch in early summer, this program will collaborate with other organizations in the County. As with all library services, these programs will be free to the public. Once successfully established, this program will spread to other branches throughout the County, furthering the Library’s commitment to lifelong learning for everyone.
