Employment Opportunity Announcement

Interested in working part time, and receiving full benefits? We are looking for a detail oriented individual to assist in the day to day functions of our Finance Office. This unique part time position is a wonderful opportunity for someone with previous cash reconciliation experience and an eye for accuracy to use their skills in a professional environment.

Position Title: Accounting Clerk I

Location: Administrative Offices, 6532 Adelphi Road, Hyattsville, Maryland

Hours: Part Time (20 hours/week), Monday - Friday 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Salary:
$13,071 and a generous benefits package

Example of Duties: Processes, coordinates and reconciles cash receipts including verifying accuracy of cash deposits received from branches and miscellaneous cash receipts, processing paperwork, and entering data into spreadsheet. Maintains cash and associated supplies, including monetary change and Metro cards; maintains cash report requisitions and other logs. Assists Accounting Clerks (Accounts Payable and Payroll) as needed. Performs other duties or responsibilities that are related to the position.

Qualifications/Requirements:Experience reconciling cash receipts and entering data into electronic spreadsheets. Ability to make accurate arithmetical calculations and perform accurate data entry. Ability to accurately use calculator and other office equipment. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse staff and external contacts. Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions, produce work requiring considerable detail and accuracy and meet deadlines. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. A high school diploma and two (2) years of related experience including experience with electronic spreadsheets, preferably Excel, or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Work involves extensive sitting, use of computer, repetitive hand movements, reaching, stooping, bending and moving objects.
