Letter from the Director

Engage your community. . .
Illuminate your world. . .
@Your Prince George’s County Library

After many months of hard work, surveys, customers/staff focus groups, Steering Committee and Work Group meetings, our new Prince George’s County Memorial Library System (PGCMLS) Strategic/Long Range Plan, 2011-2015 has been finalized. We now enter an exciting new era of library service with a new Vision and Mission. Each reflects our intention and ability to remain relevant and responsive in the 21st century.

Our Vision, ENRICH, is meant as an acronym. The acronym will be used in a flexible manner to highlight different aspects of the library system and its services. Therefore, it will be changing over time depending on the context of usage. Initial concepts associated with the Vision Statement will be as follows:
Engage
Neighborhoods
Resources
Inspire
Connect
Host

Our Mission now becomes:
Prince George’s County Memorial Library System provides materials and information for study and personal enrichment. We offer strategies for lifelong learning through access to varied media and professional guidance by our staff. We focus all resources on the needs of our customers.

Join us as we create our future at Prince George’s County Memorial Library System.
