The Maryland Energy Assistance Program (MEAP) provides assistance grants to help with home heating bills. Grant amounts vary by income level of the household applying and by fuel type.
The Prince George's County Memorial Library System and the Prince George's County Department of Social Services are partnering to provide applications and information on the Energy Assistance Program.

The Department of Social Services will present three energy assistance information workshops at library branches:
- Fairmount Heights Branch, Mar. 3, 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.
- Hyattsville Branch, Mar. 17, 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
- Greenbelt Branch, Mar. 25, 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
From now through March 2008, each library branch has brochures about Maryland Home Energy Programs, as well as applications and instructions.
