Area Managers

The Prince George's County Memorial Library System welcomes five new area managers. Their names, areas and branches served, along with a brief bio are listed below.

Area Managers photosBlane Halliday
North Area Manager
Branches: Bowie, Beltsville, Greenbelt & Laurel
Blane Halliday received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Youngstown State University and a Master of Library Science degree from Kent State University. Having worked in public libraries for more than 15 years, Blane brings a wide range of professional experience to Prince George’s County Memorial Library System, including work for large urban systems, small town libraries as well as sprawling suburban systems. He has worked in the capacity of a reference librarian, subject department head, internal department supervisor and branch manager. Blane’s professional interests include non-print media, intellectual freedom, equal access for all library customers and collection development. He has served on the American Library Association’s Video Roundtable Notable Videos for Adults committee and is a graduate of the State Library of Florida’s Sunshine State Library Leadership Institute. 
 
 
Luis Labra
East Area Manager
Branches: South Bowie, Largo-Kettering & Upper Marlboro
Luis Labra received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from the University of Maryland in 1988. Luis began his library career working as a library page at the Bladensburg library. After college, he was hired as a library associate at the Beltsville library and while working there attended Catholic University and obtained a Master in Library Science degree in 1993. Luis has worked as a librarian at the New Carrollton Branch and as an assistant branch manager with the Fairfax County Library system. In 1997, he became a branch manager in the Alexandria Library System, where he remained until 2011 when he returned to Prince George’s County Memorial Library System as a branch manager at the Bowie Branch Library. 
 
 
 
Kelley Perkins
South Area Manager
Branches: Oxon Hill, Surratts-Clinton, Accokeek & Baden
Kelley Perkins earned her Master in Library Science degree from the University of Maryland in 2000. Her entire career as a librarian has been with Prince George’s County Memorial Library System. Kelley worked in children services for 20 years and as a manager of mid-sized and large branches for almost six years. 
 
 
 
 
 
Catherine Hollerbach
West Area Manager
Branches: Hyattsville, New Carrollton, Bladensburg & Mount Rainier 
Catherine Hollerbach comes to Prince George’s County Memorial Library System with 22 years of experience working at the Anne Arundel County Public Library system. She was most recently branch manager of the Provinces Branch Library in Severn, Md., where she created a Military Family Resource Center, which included a collection of print and electronic resources to serve the military personnel at Fort Meade and the influx of patrons from the federal BRAC program. Catherine has a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism/public relations and a Master of Library Science degree from the University of Maryland. She is a member of Maryland’s Library Associate Training Institute Oversight Committee. 
 
   
 
Victoria L. Johnson
Central Area Manager
Branches: Spauldings, Fairmount Heights, Glenarden, & Hillcrest Heights
 Victoria L. Johnson received her Bachelor of Science degree from Ohio University and her Master of Library Science degree from Catholic University. She has worked for the Prince George’s County Memorial Library System for more than 25 years. She began her career as a library associate at the Oxon Hill branch in the Children’s Department. She has since worked at Glenarden, Bladensburg, New Carrollton and now the Spauldings branch. In the past, she has served as president of the former PGCMLS Staff Association, as a shop steward, and as a member of various committees including the strategic planning committee.
