JULY 2017
Message from the CEO

Saying, “Farewell”

  • To those who have worked with me in sharing the vision to execute the mission of the County Library System;
  • To the customers who have supported the Library by their visits to our branches, our website and social media, their commendations of employee services, their legislative advocacy, their volunteer services and donations;
  • To our Friends groups who have funded programs and advocated so well for the Library;
  • To our County government who has appreciated and budgeted for the advancement of early literacy, workforce development, GED-testing and the new Career Online High School, senior and homebound citizen outreach and teen community services; and
  • To our State and County governments for capital improvements such as the new construction of our South Bowie, Laurel, and Hyattsville branches and the major renovations of several other branches;

— is never easy.

This has been a difficult decision, but I believe this is a good time to transition to the next season of my life. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to move our library system to such an exciting place in Maryland’s public library landscape.

Best wishes in the future,

Kathleen A. Teaze, Chief Executive Officer
