Sojourner Truth Room Update

Sojourner Truth Room imageAfrican American Incorporated Towns in Prince George’s County will become the focus of the Sojourner Truth Room at the Oxon Hill Branch Library. To the historically African American towns of North Brentwood, Fairmount Heights, Glenarden and Eagle Harbor will be added six incorporated towns that also have sizeable African American populations: Capitol Heights, District Heights, New Carrollton, Seat Pleasant, Landover Hills and Croom. While the room currently has a dedicated collection of African American history resources, the integration of an incorporated town display would focus that history to a very local and relevant level.
